the home: He's lived in New York his entire life. He was born and raised in Saugerties, New York
but moved to the big city after he left his home. Aside from his brief time back in Saugerties he's continued to live in NYC.
 
the friends:
- Ben Grimm (The Thing): Ben was one of Vance's first superhuman friends. They met when Vance ran away from home and joined wrestling. Eventually Ben left and encouraged Vance to go home, saying he wouldn't be hurt again. This was a lie, but Vance never blamed Ben for that.
- Dwayne Taylor (Night Trasher): Night Trasher was the leader of the New Warriors, a team Vance joined after being rejected from the Avengers.
- Elvin Haliday (Rage): They met in the New Warriors, and were friends since. He is the reason Vance went back to the Avengers.
 
the family:
- Arnold Astrovik (father, deceased): Abused Vance as a child for being different, and is the reason Vance leaves home. He later comes back, but Vance accidentally kills him with his powers.
- Norma Astrovik (mother): Also, abused by Vance's father, but reports Vance when he kills the father, this leads to his arrest.
 
the girl: Angelica Jones (Firestar)
They met when they formed the New Warriors as teens, and began dating ever since. She helped to get Vance released from prison early. And they've been fighting bad guys (and girls) since they met.

Bio: Vance has had his power since he was a child, but they've only developed since then. In the beginning his father would abuse him for being different. So, he ran away. To support himself he joined the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, as a professional wrestler it was a circuit for superhuman competitors. Here he met Ben Grimm (the Thing). He then decided to return home; and requested membership into the Avengers. Unfortunately he was rejected by his idol, Captain America. Soon after Vance helped found a group called New Warriors founded by Night Trasher. He then began a relationship with a teammate, Angelica (Firestar).

Meanwhile, Vance had been hiding the fact that his father was abusing him and his mother.
Somehow his powers were making the situation worse, in the end he used them as self defense and killed his father. His mother then pressed charges, and Vance was arrested for murder. But he was let out early for good behavior. This is when Vance finally adopts the codename Justice.

After getting out Vance, Angelica, and their friend Rage fought against the evil sorceress LeFay. Rage then pushed the two to join the Avengers.
